Srijan Foundation (SF) is working in the Ramgarh district to address the issue of adolescents engagement in the coal mining activity. The adolescent and their families are engaged in the illegal coal mining activities for their livelihood. The vulnerable economic situation compels these adolescent girls to work in the coal mine or look after their siblings leads to high drop out. Their exposure with outsider and hazardous working conditions leads to poor reproductive health and exploitation.

Jharkhand is a source state for trafficking. A large chunk of tribal girls are forced to migrates to work as domestic help or in brick kiln. And as per media report more than 30000 girls go missing every year or are trafficked. These girls are put to extreme forms of exploitation and abuse, SF works to promote safe migration through Right Based Education and Access to Justice, Collectivization of Migrants /Survivors, Linkages with relevant stakeholders to reduce the vulnerability of the at risk.

As mentioned above that although organization was registered on 2004 but it has been carrying out its activities for the last several years in rural and urban areas of Distt-Ambedkar Nagar. Many children living in Trichy slums drop out of school before completing their education. The coaching class project of New Life supports 50 at risk students in grades 4-12 by conducting tuitions after school hours. The classes give students the individual attention they lack at school. Trained teachers help students improve in subjects that are difficult for them. The students who are from difficult circumstances are also counselled to help them cope with emotional/psychological stress.
